Today was quite eventful as far as my Iowa days have been so far! I accidentally slept in past noon because we forgot to set an alarm, haha... Anywho. We started watching this show last night called Outlast: the Jungle, where a bunch of people have to compete to last the longest in the wilderness. It's extremely dramatic and very entertaining. Potentially slop, but I don't really care. We watched a couple episodes of that this "morning" and then we went on an adventure!

We drove to Ames, which usually isn't too far from Grinnell (where we're staying), but US 6 is closed at the moment for construction, so the drive was about an hour. We drove into town and first got an oil change for my car, which was more than 3000 miles overdue (oops). The guy was really nice at the oil change place and gave me 50% off since it was my first time at the place. I felt bad--when I started my car after he was done and the engine stalled like it always does he had such a wide-eyed scared expression, like he was thinking "did I do that?" It was all ok when I told him my car just likes to make noise.

After getting my oil changed we went to Target. Really we had to pick up a prescription at the CVS that was inside the Target, but the fun part was the Target. I got my favorite drink in the world, San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa (blood orange soda)! I also bought some playdoh, per my therapist's reccomendation (for grounding), and most excitingly, I got a Warriors blind box!!! I'm not usually one for blind boxes, but I do love warrior cats and I've been wanting to get into collecting their new plushes and figures. I got Tawnypelt! [I'll go in and put a picture here later] Isn't she sooo cute ^_^ I just love the scar detailing with embroidery.

The rest of my day was pretty uneventful. We came home from Ames, ate dinner, and watched more of our show (big things are happening--I hope team Alpha wins). I showered and tried and failed to shave my legs, too.

Well, that was my day! In other news, I'm thinking about working on some shrines on this site, just for fun. I've been poking around at other people's shrines to see what kinds of things I'd like to do but I'm not quite sure yet. We'll see!

I'm so bored I have no idea how to cure this boredom!!! I've watched everything and played a little bit of every game and I coded my whole art section and uploaded all the art and I just have no more ideas. Send help please...

Not much to report today. Hangin' out in Iowa. Kaia and I finished the season of MasterChef we were watching (the person I wanted to win did not win ) and I worked on my website quite a bit. Their pain seems to be pretty managed, thankfully, but they're sleeping a lot. They went to bed about two hours ago--8:30pm--and I've just been working on coding since then. I'm probably gonna play some Minecraft because it's gonna be another couple of hours before I can sleep. Pretty boring day! I just wanted to give a little update to get into the habit of blogging again.

Hello world! Today was quite eventful, both in the development of this website and in my life! I've had a long day, though, so this'll be brief.

Web dev first: I remade this website from scratch. Or, I officially abandoned sampersand.neocities.org in favor of this one. I added all the main pages, as well as hopefully a functional blog section. I still need to make the splash page pretty, but it technically works for now, lol. I want to make custom assets (like little gifs of me), so I might do that tomorrow.

Regular ol' life update: Kaia got top surgery today! We got to the hopsital bright and early (or, dark and early since it was before sunrise) and checked in, and before we knew it, they were off to the OR! Everything went perfectly, but it was a long procedure, so we didn't get to see them for another 5 or 6 hours. (Which is when I had time for webdev.) We drove home once the anaesthesia was worn off enough for them to walk. They don't seem to be in too much pain, which is good, but they're drugged up, so we'll see how they feel in the morning. In any case, really exciting! It's a big step for them. I'm excited to see them all recovered!
